Other than spending my past paychecks on food, I somehow got into purchasing make-up and skincare products. I'll just blame those little Instagram videos. Expanding my collections and trying to become more skilled within these two arts made my wallet cry, for sure. However, I became a fan of some new things after treating myself during the summer and fall.

WHAT I'M LOVIN' AND WHY (CLICK EACH PRODUCT NAME FOR MORE):

I've never done any other step when it comes to my brows besides fill & brush them out. The gel sets them nicely without making your hairs crispy- LOL, I thought that it would with "gel" in the name. A little pricey for the size, but it lasts a while.

Originally, I bought a mini version that came in a set with the other Becca products above; I loved it so much that I went back for the full size. This can be applied as a primer or mixed in with your foundation to give an overall natural glow.

One of the best, truly. (And it's self preserving, so there's no need to rush home to refrigerate.)

Not going to lie, I questioned the "beauty hack" videos before heading out to get this one. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it actually works well, aside from it's intended use. Because of the original purpose, the shave balm can be found in drugstores at a lower price point than high-end primers (score).

My go-to. For an everyday look I gravitate towards the shades realgar, raw sienna, and burnt orange. A lot of looks can be created with the palette, especially during the fall months. If you're on the hunt for one, I highly recommend ABH's.

I also first tested this out by getting the mini size. If I had a holy-grail list going, UD's All Nighter Setting Spray would be up there. Your girl's been in rain + shine with this stuff spritzed over make-up, and it stayed all day. (P.S. Based on personal experience last year, it makes your face post-break-up-proof too.)

Another primer! This one's neat and gets your skin ready for makeup application. The mist is also hydrating with vitamins and minerals. (Unfortunately, I no longer buy this brand after learning they aren't cruelty free.)

KVD's liquid lipstick formula is by far my favorite; I've recommended it to everyone I know. By moisturizing before application, the lipstick doesn't get flaky and doesn't become too dry like other liquid lipstick formulas.

My Gma gave me this months ago and I'm in love. The oil is true to it's name by giving a cooling sensation over your lips. I use it as not only a moisturizer, but as a gloss over matte lipsticks. (Lip gloss is my fav look right now, idk.)

These both came in a four piece set at Ulta that they unfortunately no longer sell. BUT, Ulta does have value sets every now and then. It's a good way to test out multiple products for a cheaper price, instead of investing in just one. These two definitely don't disappoint. (P.S. I don't have photos of the highlighter since it wanted to crack a day before... R.I.P.)

I didn't buy this myself, but was instead rewarded it by the awesome people over at Too Cool For School. Early in 2016, I was one of the winners for the #TCFSxEgg campaign; This is my favorite of the goodies they had sent. It dispenses as a mousse but once you work the product into your skin, it dissolves as an oil. I love it so much that I've already repurchased.

What are your favorites in beauty and skincare?

Sitting in my drafts are a lot of moments of rambling, random thoughts, and sometimes these posts- ones that I actually took the time to style or photograph. The look above was definitely meant to follow this. Oops, again; I'm firing myself.

Better late than never.

Hi guys, it's me. Back again, not sure if it's for good. I've been itching to post, especially with lots to share since November. Wait, scratch that... I haven't posted since October? Hm...

Since then, I've built stronger relationships with the people around me, focused on the positive, took any open shift I could at work, a semester of college was completed, went on vacation alone, reunited with my best friend, saw people I missed the most since moving in the summer, visited my grandparents who I'm really close to, helped shoot two YouTube videos, partnered with Coach, turned a year older, and so much more- but just a whole lot of things that equal up to me being busy. Busy is good though; getting back into the swing of things post vacation was rough, but I'm alive. We're only four weeks into 2017 and I hope you can all join me in saying it's off to a strong start.

Before the new year began, I took a trip to Washington state; Where I was born, where I've lived multiple times, and where I consider "home". Best. Trip. Ever. (Until my next one that is.)
Big thanks to my aunt Vanessa, cousin Jay, and best cousin friend Yasmeen for letting me live with them for two & a half weeks. The stay was great, I'd give my highest Yelp review, 10/10, 5 stars, and definitely will stay again.

Being back made me so happy. I got to see some of the people I'm closest to: family, friends from high school, and Sage (My boo. Someone special to me who will be in a few of my upcoming posts).

Going on a trip eventually means coming home, even though the goodbyes are temporary and difficult. Long distance friendships and relationships are tough, but the people on the other end are worth it (aw). It was nice to get be back to a new semester, work, and my last treat for myself- to see Chance The Rapper live. (Ahh!)

I'll try to create content for all of the fun I had mentioned. And, I will strive to post more (but we all know how that goes. Shoutout to life).
The whole "new year, new me" thing is overrated; positive change can occur at any time. Here's to another year of more growth and happiness.
