Nothing compares to the experience that derives from traveling, even when the destination isn't drastically far. I think it is one of the most important things to do in life; regret never comes from spending my money on gas or flights. Traveling will always remain as one of the elements that contribute towards my personal happiness. Invest in your travels, enjoy/appreciate wherever you go, and expand your new encounters.

...

Last weekend, I stayed in town to hangout with my grandparents (who are visiting from the mainland) and to celebrate my great grandma's birthday; family tiiime.
I still wanted to be in staycation mode, but duty called on Monday- and in my case, it was school from 8am to 1:50pm then work right after.  Honestly I still have to unpack my backpack holding miscellaneous items; including the four unused swimsuits that I brought on my two day getaway... Yeah... I'll get to it. Especially since I have to prepare for a bigger trip in the near future.

I can't remember the last time I did a full on, outfit post. Here's my beach to dinner look.

Almost done with the semester and it's almost time to hop on another plane? May, I'm excited for ya; I think I'm dreaming. Two questions I wanna end this post with:
1. What are your plans for summer?
2. Who else can't stop listening to Kendrick's new album Damn.?

Sitting in my drafts are a lot of moments of rambling, random thoughts, and sometimes these posts- ones that I actually took the time to style or photograph. The look above was definitely meant to follow this. Oops, again; I'm firing myself.

Better late than never.

Hello? It's me and I am still taking blog photos in my backyard.

Denim on denim was a look that used to make question marks pop up in my head. (I take it back though, @ Britney & Justin, 2001 AMAs.) How lame of me to hate on a trend I now can't get enough of.
Another thing: These $5 thrifted mom jeans are my favorite at the moment; catch me wearing 'em forever n ever (or however long I can fit them).

Little life update:

Besides digging up gems at the thrift store, school's been my main focus. Ya girl is totally looking forward to the two exams scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. (Non-sarcastically) I'm excited to start at my new job tomorrow. Aaand, last but not least, I scored floor seats to Chance in January. Let's justify my big purchase as an early birthday gift to myself...?

Have fun and be safe during your fall festivities friends! Talk soon-

Wearing:
B&W striped crop top- secondhand
Floral maxi skirt w/ slit- H&M
Black leather jacket- APT 9, Kohls
Buckled, studded ankle booties in taupe- Forever 21
Navy blue gold chain purse- thrifted
Happy October!
One closet staple I'm obsessed with for Fall is my black leather jacket. I love how it's not a stiff leather, which duals as something I can easily tie around my waist. Another that I'm obesessed with is mixing patterns, like stripes and florals.
If you've read my blog before, you know how much I ramble about deals. Can I just say it once more? Sales make my wallet and me very very happy. There's a great feeling that comes along with purchasing a great quality item for less than what it was originally retailed for. I have two today- my leather jacket, $16 and my maxi skirt which was $10.
I felt very Zoe Benson/Misty Day (from American Horror Story: Coven) meets Este Haim in last night's edgy, carefree ensemble. Speaking of American Horror Story, did any of you guys also watch the premier of Freak Show last night? I'm way too excited for this season to unfold.

Moving on to the photos, once again, big thanks to my mom who has a keen eye and good direction when it comes to blog photography! Thought I'd change it up and take them at night instead.
Lip products I used last night are L'OrĂ©al's "Coulour Caresse Wet Shine Stain" in "Rose On And On" and Rimmel's "Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss" #103
